  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 6 chicken hamburger buns, torn into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 8 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with onion and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  4. Combine torn buns with melted butter and sesame seeds; layer at the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  5. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, mustard, vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder for the special sauce.
  6. Layer half of the beef mixture over buns; drizzle with half of the special sauce and sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese. Repeat layers.
  7. Top with American cheese slices and cover with foil. Bake for 30 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until golden.
