  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (non-alcoholic)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add BBQ sauce to the skillet and simmer on low for about 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls lengthwise and toast in the oven for about 5 minutes.
  7. Assemble the subs by placing meatballs inside toasted rolls, topping with cheese and turkey bacon.
  8. Return subs to the oven for an additional 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese.
  9. Serve immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side.
