  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • For Cinnamon Swirl: ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and sour cream into the butter mixture until just combined. Stir in milk until smooth.
  5. For the cinnamon swirl, combine brown sugar and ground cinnamon with melted butter until it forms a paste.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner with batter and swirl in the cinnamon mixture using a toothpick.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool before glazing.
