  • 14 oz turkey sausage (or chicken sausage), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 cups elbow macaroni
  • 3½ cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced turkey sausage and cook for about 4-5 minutes until browned. Remove from the pot.
  2. Sauté minced garlic in the same pot for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add elbow macaroni, chicken broth, milk, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Reduce heat to medium-low and cover. Cook for about 8-10 minutes until the pasta is tender.
  5. Lower the heat again and stir in cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, and unsalted butter until melted.
  6. Return the turkey sausage to the pot and mix well until heated through.
