  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 small onion, finely grated or minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the gravy: 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  4. Remove meatballs and add more butter if needed. Whisk in flour until smooth, then gradually add beef broth while stirring.
